SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The governor’s half-brother is jailed on suspicion of enticing a minor online.

Utah County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Spencer Cannon said 56-year-old Paul Gordon Peters was chatting online with a police detective who pretended to be a 13-year-old girl.

Peters was arrested in Provo where the two agreed to meet and is in Utah County Jail where his cash-only bail was set at $25,000.

According to a police affidavit, Peters said in the chat that he had engaged in sex acts with underage girls before.

A jail spokesman told the Associated Press on Sunday that it wasn’t clear if Peters had an attorney and he couldn’t be reached for comment.

Gov. Gary Herbert’s spokesman said in a statement that the governor and Peters were raised in different households.
