GILFORD, N.H. (AP) - Gov. Maggie Hassan will be the keynote speaker at Granite State College’s commencement ceremonies.

Nearly 600 students are graduating from the Concord-based college that caters in particular to people already in the workforce or raising children through flexible scheduling and online learning.

Commencement ceremonies get underway at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook in Gilford.

Granite State College is one of the four institutions of the University System of New Hampshire. University system officials say 41 of the 581 graduates will be receiving graduate degrees. The New Hampshire College and University Council says more than 19,000 students are graduating from colleges statewide this commencement season.

Granite State College has academic campuses in Lebanon, Portsmouth, Littleton and Nashua.
