HANOVER, Va. (AP) - The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a jogger.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement that deputies called to Dunns Chapel Road on Sunday morning found 42-year-old Denise Gorondy on the side of the road. She was taken to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office says investigators have determined that Gorondy was hit by an eastbound red Toyota RAV 4 with a double silver or white pinstripe. Officials say the vehicle is missing the side view mirror on the driver’s side and should have heavy damage to the front driver’s side.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call authorities.
