JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The city of Jonesboro is about to start cracking down on underground flea markets.

Operators of the markets rent storage units for their businesses, but don’t have a privilege license to operate and are not paying sales taxes to the state. The privilege license is $75 per year.

City officials have identified 16 people who rent 69 storage units at one facility, but have no license and don’t remit sales taxes.

Mayor Harold Perrin told The Jonesboro Sun (https://bit.ly/1RUKIDY ) that those people will be sent a letter telling them they have to pay to continue their operation.
