BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A Payette man has been arrested after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase on I-84.

Idaho State Police officers arrested 33-year-old Scott Stanton on Saturday after he rammed into police cars and led the chase that reached speeds of up to 90 mph.

Troopers were first called Saturday afternoon after a hit-and-run on the interstate near Nampa. Troopers found a pickup truck matching witness reports but it fled when officers tried to pull it over. After briefly losing Stanton’s pickup in Boise, officers again found him.

During the second pursuit, officers say Stanton swerved at multiple police vehicles and taunted the officers. He was apprehended after hitting four police vehicles.

Stanton is being held at the Ada County Jail. Jail officials say it is unclear if he has an attorney.
