BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say a trooper who was struck by a motorcyclist has been undergoing tests for head and upper body injuries.

State police spokesman David Procopio says Sunday the trooper was being treated at a hospital. His name wasn’t released.

The trooper was struck Saturday at Revere Beach; he had just gotten out of his cruiser after stopping a car. Authorities say the motorcyclist hit the trooper, then struck a car and tried to run away on foot before officers arrested him.

Procopio says Danilo Diroche has been charged with operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of a crash that caused personal injury. The 26-year-old Lynn man was also taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
