LJUBLJANA, Slovenia (AP) - An early header by Burak Yilmaz gave Turkey a 1-0 victory against Slovenia in a warmup match Sunday for the European Championship.

Turkey started aggressively and it paid off in the 5th minute when Yilmaz connected with Hakan Calhanoglu’s free kick into the center of the penalty area.

Slovenia failed to convert its chances, including a second-half attempt from Milivoje Novakovic.

Turkey opens against Croatia in Euro 2016 on June 12 in Paris. Spain and Czech Republic are also in Group D.

Slovenia hasn’t qualified.
