OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A witness in the murder trial of two men charged with killing a prostitute who was featured on the HBO series “Cathouse” and three other people says one of the men told him the victims were ordered to their knees and shot and that he was upset because one person escaped alive.

Jose Flores testified Friday in the murder trial of Denny Phillips and Russell Lee Hogshooter and said he and Phillips were federal prison cellmates in Indiana when Phillips made the comments.

Phillips, 38, who isn’t related to Brooke Phillips, and Hogshooter, 38, have pleaded not guilty to six counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy in the deaths of Brooke Phillips, Milagros Barrera, Jennifer Lynn Ermey and Casey Mark Barrientos in Oklahoma City. The other two murder charges are because Brooke Phillips and Barrera were pregnant.

Prosecutors say Denny Phillips ordered the killing of Barrientos and the women were killed to eliminate witnesses.

“He was upset it didn’t go down right ” Flores testified. “Somebody lived.”

The survivor who escaped the shooting was able to identify David Tyner as being involved.

Tyner and another suspect have pleaded guilty to murder charges in the case and Tyner has testified that he killed Barrientos, Barrera and Ermey because Denny Phillips threatened his family.

Hogshooter is accused of killing Brooke Phillips, who was among the prostitutes featured on the cable network’s show about the Moonlite BunnyRanch, a legal brothel near Carson City, Nevada.

Defense attorneys have contended Denny Phillips had no reason to want Barrientos dead because they were friends and their drug business was profitable.

Flores testified that Phillips said he planned the killing because he wanted control of the drug business.

Testimony is to resume Monday.
