LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles authorities say a motorist was killed and four other people were injured in a violent three-vehicle crash in the mid-city area.

City Fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says the crash occurred early Monday at the intersection of San Vicente and La Brea.

City News Service says a Honda Accord collided with a Toyota Camry and a Land Rover. Details of the crash are under investigation.

The coroner’s office says the driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Eduardo Mendoza, died at the scene.

Police say the other two drivers were hospitalized in unknown condition, as were the two passengers in the Toyota.
