GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Officials in Greensboro say about 35,000 gallons of sewage spilled over the weekend.

The city said in a news release Monday that the spill of untreated wastewater occurred Saturday.

The spill occurred over a six-hour period into Rock Creek, a tributary of the Cape Fear River Basin.

Officials say there was a pipe failure that has been repaired. City crews are still working to restore the area affected by the spill.
