KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - At least one person has been shot and three other people have been hospitalized after crashes and a chase that followed an officer-involved shooting in Kearney.

Kearney police say the officer and a vehicle driver had a confrontation around 7 p.m. Sunday and gunshots erupted. It’s unclear whether both men fired guns.

The driver raced away in his vehicle with the officer in pursuit. Police say the officer’s car soon collided with an uninvolved vehicle just before the vehicle being pursued rammed into a building.

Police say the driver of that vehicle had suffered gunshots. He and his passenger, the officer and the woman driving the vehicle that collided with the officer’s cruiser were all taken to a hospital.

No names have been released.
