THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A south Lafourche man’s claim that Chevron Pipe Line vessels damaged his oyster lease has been dismissed.

Michael Callais, of Cut Off, filed the lawsuit Feb. 20, 2015, in state District Court in Thibodaux.

At his request, The Daily Comet (https://bit.ly/25Iwsv7) reports state District Judge Walter Lanier dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning the decision is final. Each party will pay its own costs, according to the agreement.

In the lawsuit, Callais said Chevron engaged in oil and gas activity Nov. 3, 2013, that involved several barges and tug boats passing through his lease without permission. After the vessels ran aground, he claimed, tug boats had to push the barges from behind to free them.
