NEW YORK (AP) - Police are seeking three suspects in connection with an attack last week on a Muslim man outside a Queens mosque.

The NYPD says the incident is being investigated as a possible bias assault.

The head of an advocacy group tells the New York Post (https://nyp.st/1tc35A8 ) that Mohamed Rasheed Khan is having trouble speaking because of broken bones in his face. He was scheduled for surgery on Monday.

Afaf Nasher of New York’s Council on American-Islamic Relations says Khan was wearing religious attire during the attack Wednesday night outside the Center for Islamic Studies.

Khan is an American citizen of Guyanese descent.
