MONROE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man accused of shooting at law enforcement in a subdivision in Georgia has been arrested.

The Walton County Sheriff’s office tells multiple news outlets that the man was apprehended Wednesday after shot were fired in the Morgan’s Landing subdivision around 4 p.m. The community was placed on lockdown by authorities before police took the suspect into custody.

Investigators say a man randomly fired more than 50 shots, several at deputies, but no one was hit. Police found shell casing form an AR-15 and several handguns.

No one was hurt.

Authorities say the man surrendered with his hands up and asked why deputies did not kill him.

The man’s name has not been released.
