ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - Police say a man has died after a shooting in the city of Alexandria.

Alexandria police spokeswoman Crystal Nosal (noe-SALL’) said the man - identified as 28-year-old Pierre Clark of no fixed address - died Wednesday afternoon after being taken to the hospital.

Nosal said the shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Montgomery Street in the city.

The shooting suspect remained at large Wednesday afternoon.

Clark’s death was the third homicide in Alexandria so far this year.

Alexandria Schools placed all city schools on a lock-in for about an hour Wednesday as a precaution before lifting the lock-in at 1:45 p.m.
