TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man suspected of killing a 20-month-old child.

They say 23-year-old Erick Henry was taken into custody Tuesday night and he’s facing one count of first-degree homicide and two counts of child abuse in the death of Adam Mada.

The Arizona Daily Star reports Mada was Henry’s nephew.

Henry has been booked into county jail on a $250,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately clear Wednesday if he has a lawyer yet.

Sheriff’s deputies were called out to a home in the early morning hours of March 12 and found paramedics already there trying to help Mada.

They were unable to revive the boy and he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy performed by the county Office of the Medical Examiner determined the death to be homicide.
