FLORAL PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man suspected in a string of knifepoint robberies in Queens and on Long Island.

Officials say 24-year-old Khalif House, of West Hempstead, was captured Wednesday hiding behind a home in Floral Park, Long Island.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, began searching for him after a botched robbery attempt of a Dollar Tree store in College Point on Tuesday.

House is suspected of 27 robberies since March, mostly of Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway sandwich shops, Carvel ice cream stores and 7-Elevens. Authorities say the suspect would come in at night, display a knife and demand money from the cash register

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano told Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/25N5EXh ) that heroin may have been the suspect’s motivation.

It wasn’t clear if House had a lawyer to comment.
