ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) - Police say a bad smell led a curious neighbor to discover a decomposing body inside an abandoned garage in central Pennsylvania.

The Blair County coroner planned to autopsy the remains Thursday, and authorities don’t plan to release any information - including the presumed identity of the remains - until that time.

Altoona police say the neighbor found the body about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police aren’t saying whether the body may be that of a woman last seen Dec. 10.

But that woman’s family says the since-missing woman and her husband had considered buying the garage and nearby house when both were slated for a sheriff’s sale to cover back taxes owed on the property.
