AURORA, Colo. (AP) - The Adams County coroner’s office says the death of a 10-year-old boy who was shot at an apartment complex in Aurora was a homicide.

The Aurora Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/Ed7rFR ) the boy’s family said earlier this week that the boy accidentally shot himself Friday night, but the coroner’s report released Thursday contradicts that.

The boy’s 17-year-old brother was arrested on suspicion of negligent child abuse resulting in death and is being held at a juvenile detention center. Documents in the case are sealed.

The 10-year-old was pronounced dead at the Nordic Arms apartments.
