NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a New York City minivan driver has been arrested following a wrong-way crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway in Manhattan that killed a New Jersey woman.

The incident began late Tuesday near Eighth Avenue and 17th Street.

Police say the minivan driver first hit vehicles in the Chelsea neighborhood before fleeing north on the southbound side of the highway.

The minivan had a head-on crash on the Upper West Side. A passenger in that vehicle, 54-year-old Olga Ilina of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, was killed.

The New York Police Department said Thursday it has arrested 23-year-old Jean Herrera of Manhattan on charges that include manslaughter and reckless endangerment.

There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
