MANY, La. (AP) - A six-months pregnant inmate who escaped from the Sabine Parish Women’s Facility late Wednesday is back in custody after nearly 14 hours on the run.

KSLA-TV (https://bit.ly/22Wm7qk ) reports 33-year-old Olive Ashtine Somersall, of Many, was being held on a probation violation for aggravated battery when she was discovered missing during regular rounds about 11:30 p.m.

Sabine Parish Detention Center Warden Joe Dewil Jr. says she escaped by gaining access to the elevator while the on-duty deputy was distracted with other inmates.

Dewil says Somersall was captured around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, after the sheriff’s office got a call reporting she had been spotted walking along a road in Many. Deputies quickly found her and took her into custody without incident.

Somersall now faces a charge of simple escape.
