BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) - The popular ridesharing service Uber is lifting its ban on pickups in Bremerton.

The Kitsap Sun reports (https://goo.gl/u4JJMr ) the company had ceased operating in the city, citing what it believed were onerous regulations. But after consulting the city attorney’s office, Uber officials found no such barriers to operating in the city.

Bremerton doesn’t regulate ridesharing under its taxicab rules, but it does require a $75 business license.

An Uber representative said the company was allowing its drivers to pick up fares in Bremerton beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday.
