COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man in jail on a murder charge in a 2014 shooting in Columbia has now been charged with a 2013 shooting death.

Columbia Police said in a news release that 22-year-old Charles Byrd Jr. was served the new murder warrant in jail Tuesday.

The new charge stems from the shooting death of 21-year-old Willie Gilmore in November 2013. Police say the two men were arguing before Gilmore was killed.

Byrd was already in jail after being charged with killing 24-year-old Marcus A. Kennedy in May 2014. Police say a woman was wounded in the shooting and Byrd was arguing with both of them.

Byrd has 13 other charges pending in Richland County. Court records did not list his lawyer.
