WYOMING, Mich. (AP) - A 20-year-old western Michigan man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of his 5-month-old nephew, who was covered with blankets and pillows in an effort to quiet him.

Joseph Nguyen was charged in the Dec. 26 death of Isaiah Nguyen in Wyoming, southwest of Grand Rapids.

The boy’s 21-year-old father, Viet Nguyen, also pleaded guilty this week to attempted lying to police.

The men will be sentenced April 13.
