JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Jacksonville man charged with killing his wife told police she had “entities” inside her body that he was attempting to beat out.

The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1Tirb77) reports that 61-year-old Billy Ray Martin was charged with murder Saturday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reports that officers on Friday found 61-year-old Lou Ellen Martin’s body beneath a comforter while conducting a welfare check on the couple’s home. A neighbor told police that Billy Ray Martin had been acting strangely and making incoherent statements.

When the body was found, Martin was already in custody. He was arrested Thursday after police say he accosted shoppers outside a supermarket and inside a convenience store, punching one in the mouth.
