VAIL, Colo. (AP) - Officials have determined that a 39-year-old man killed in a skiing accident at Beaver Creek Resort died of blunt force trauma to the chest.

The Vail Daily reports (https://bit.ly/1T6ZKMW ) that Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis says Sam Beall of Knoxville, Tennessee had been wearing a helmet when he struck a sign attached to a wooden post between runs Thursday. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Beall owned Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, a luxury hotel and event destination in the Great Smoky Mountains.

His toxicology report is not yet available.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident.
