PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a 24-year-old woman has been charged in the stabbing death of a transgender woman in northeast Philadelphia last month, and they say another arrest or arrests are expected.

Authorities have not released the name of the suspect in the Feb. 20 stabbing of 25-year-old Maya Young, citing an ongoing investigation.

Police said Young was found on a street in the Frankford section of the city with stab wounds to the neck and chest shortly before midnight, and she was pronounced dead a half-hour later at Aria Health Frankford.

Homicide detectives on Tuesday arrested the suspect and charged her with murder and conspiracy. They have not commented on the motive for the stabbing but said an additional arrest or arrests are “imminent.”
