SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A school bus driver accused of driving drunk with special needs students on board is now on administrative leave.

The Daily Herald newspaper in Provo reports (https://bit.ly/2273H6c) that an Alpine School District spokeswoman says they terminate people who violate their drug and alcohol policy.

Driver Sherry Lund is on leave as the district awaits the results of the criminal investigation.

Saratoga Springs police say the 52-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after a 911 caller reported seeing bus on the side of the road with an unconscious driver.

Four special needs students were on the bus. No one was hurt. Parents and a substitute bus driver picked up the elementary school kids.

No attorney was immediately listed for Lund in court records and a phone number listed for her went unanswered Thursday.
