DETROIT (AP) - The chief of the Detroit Employment Solutions Corp. is taking a new job as president of the Detroit Public Schools Foundation.

Pamela Moore has spent six years running the city’s job placement workforce agency. She moves into her new role on March 28.

The Detroit Employment Solutions Corp. spun off from the city in 2012 to become a separate nonprofit.

It provides recruitment, screening and pre-testing services to Detroit-based businesses. It also provides jobseekers with access to training and employer-led hiring events.

Mayor Mike Duggan said in a release that “there are 8,000 more Detroiters working now than two years ago” … “Pam and her team deserve a lot of the credit for that.”

The city will conduct a national search for Moore’s replacement.
