KILN, Miss. (AP) - Officials have recovered the body of a Stone County man who went missing.

Hancock County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Don Bass tells media outlets that officials recovered the body of 31-year-old Brody “B.J.” Brown after it was found floating in a lake Wednesday morning.

Hancock County coroner Jim Faulk says that an autopsy has determined that Brown likely drowned in Tranquility Lake at Muddy Joe’s Off Road & RV Park near Kiln. Faulk says a final determination will come after routine toxicology tests are completed.

Officials had been searching for Brown since he went missing Saturday night.

State Sen. Sean Tindell, who is Brown’s first cousin, says closure is better than not knowing what happened.

Brown’s family members say they appreciate the support they have received from the community.
