BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police are asking Burlington residents to take note of any suspicious people after a slew of burglaries in recent weeks.

WPTZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1pknn8G ) that there are as many as eight open cases as of this week from the city’s New North End section. Several burglaries have been reported in the city’s South End as well.

Lt. Shawn Burke says many of the New North End cases have similar characteristics, indicating they could be the work of one individual.

Burke says the burglaries happened during the day when homeowners were out. Stolen items include money, computers, bikes and small electronics.

Police are recommending that resident record the serial numbers of their electronics.
