COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Chris Lorenzo made a steal near mid-court and sank a lay-up with 6.5 seconds left in overtime to give C. Milton Wright a 51-49 victory over Stephen Decatur in the Class 3A state title game.

Saturday’s victory was the first state title for C. Milton Wright (24-3) and capped the school’s first appearance in a championship game.

The Seahawks had possession with the score tied at 49 and were trying for the final shot before Lorenzo poked the ball away from Torrey Brittingham, picked it up and drove for the game-winning shot.

Corey Bays led the Mustangs with 16 points, despite missing most of the first half with foul trouble. Dante Brown added 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Lorenzo had nine points and five steals.

JaQuan Johnson led Stephen Decatur (24-3) with 14 points.

Brittingham scored 11 for the Seahawks, who missed seven of 11 free throws, allowing the Mustangs to stay close in the fourth quarter.
