HICKMAN, Neb. (AP) - The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the 29th anniversary of the death of a Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputy.

The ceremony will honor the late Deputy Craig Dodge, who was shot and killed in the line of duty.

Dodge was shot by Terry Reynolds after the deputy responded to a domestic disturbance at an apartment building in Hickman on March 14, 1987.

The building was later torn down, and place on the lot was transformed into a memorial - dedicated in 2013 - to honor deputies who died in the line of duty.

Monday’s ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Craig Dodge Memorial Park in Hickman.
