BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s elk, moose and bighorn sheep hunting license applications are now available.

The applications can be found online at the state Game and Fish Department’s website, www.gf.nd.gov . Paper applications can be picked up at license vendors. The deadline to apply is March 23.

A total of 338 elk licenses are available to hunters this fall, an increase of 37 from last year. A total of 202 moose licenses are available, an increase of 70.

A bighorn sheep hunting season is tentatively scheduled for the fall, but it won’t be finalized until after a summer population study. From two to eight licenses are likely to be handed out.

Elk, moose and bighorn sheep lottery licenses are issued as once-in-a-lifetime licenses in North Dakota.
