NEW BUFFALO, Pa. (AP) - Police are searching for the drivers of vehicles that struck and killed a 12-year-old girl in central Pennsylvania last week.

State police in Perry County say the girl was hit in the southbound lanes of Route 11/15 in front of the Red Carpet Inn near New Buffalo Borough just before 9 p.m. Thursday.

Police said multiple vehicles struck and ran over the girl, who had special needs, but none stopped to help. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

State Police in Newport say a white tractor-trailer is believed to have been one of the vehicles involved. They are asking anyone who traveled by the scene at about this time to call investigators.
