HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A correctional officer accused of sexually assaulting a male prisoner at a Hartford jail is set to be arraigned on misdemeanor charges.

Paul Rosenberg, of Litchfield, is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday.

Rosenberg was charged last week with three counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree sexual assault. State police began an investigation in September after a prisoner at the Hartford Correctional Center alleged Rosenberg touched him inappropriately.

Court records indicate state prison officials have placed Rosenberg on administrative leave.

Rosenberg posted $5,000 bail. He and his lawyer didn’t return phone and email messages seeking comment.
