GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona Coyotes assigned goalie Marek Langhamer to Springfield of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Czech didn’t play in his stint with the Coyotes. He’s 6-6-1 record with 3.52 goals-against average in 13 games for Springfield this season.

On Saturday night, starting goalie Mike Smith returned after a 40-game absence to make 44 saves a 4-0 victory in Edmonton. Smith had surgery to repair a core muscle injury.

With Smith’s back, Louis Domingue has returned to the backup role.
