CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina’s presidential primary election on Tuesday is approaching fast, and supporters are working to win voters for their favored candidates.

A political action committee supporting Ted Cruz’s run for the Republican nomination scheduled a Sunday afternoon rally at the dragway attached to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. Cruz is being called a “special guest.”

The event by the “Keep the Promise” PAC also includes appearances by former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, who endorsed Cruz last week. They’re being joined by conservative commentators Glenn Beck and David Limbaugh. U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows, the Rev. Mark Harris of Charlotte and television and music entertainers also will take the stage.

North Carolina is one of five states holding presidential preference elections Tuesday.
