COOKSBURG, Pa. (AP) - State police say a man was arrested after a standoff in western Pennsylvania that lasted more than 24 hours and involved an exchange of gunfire.

Troopers were called to a Cooksburg home near the Cook Forest in Jefferson County at about 10 a.m. Saturday after a report of an intoxicated man with a gun inside.

Authorities said he wouldn’t speak to police, so they got an arrest warrant but were fired upon while trying to serve it. Police said an exchange of gunfire followed; no officers were injured.

Police said the 47-year-old suspect surrendered at about 10:20 a.m. Sunday and was treated for a minor injury, but they didn’t say whether it occurred during the gunfire.

Police said he will face charges including attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
