OREM, Utah (AP) - Utah Valley University will receive $32 million from the state to help build its proposed performing arts center.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1QWb9Kd ) that the state legislature approved the funding and groundbreaking on the project could happen as early as November.

The new building was one of four Utah System of Higher Education capital development priorities to receive approval for state funding.

The university in February announced it had raised $20 million in donations for the project, which is expected to cost $55 million. UVU will need to raise an additional $2 to $3 million.
