MARION, N.C. (AP) - Two people have been found dead in a home that burned in Marion.

Craig Walker with McDowell County Emergency Management told local media outlets that officials are working to identify the victims in the fire Sunday morning.

Walker said firefighters were called to the house around 8 a.m. Sunday.

Officials said someone driving by apparently saw the fire and called for help.

The victims were found upstairs in the home and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Walker says there are no signs of anything suspicious in the blaze.

Autopsies are being conducted.
