ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Three state campgrounds in the Adirondacks are getting a makeover.

The Department of Environmental Conservation has proposed upgrades for Limekiln Lake, Eighth Lake and Lake Durant campgrounds. The work is to be done over the next five years.

The agency is accepting public comments on the plans until April 8. The plans are available for review on the DEC website (https://on.ny.gov/227dj47 ).

Upgrades include replacement of restroom buildings, rehabilitating overused campsites, replacing worn picnic tables and fireplaces, and rehabilitating sewage and water systems.

Eighth Lake and Lake Durant are also slated to get new shower buildings.
