SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A capital spending budget proposed by Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner cites $180 million in overdue repairs and maintenance at the state fairgrounds in Springfield and Du Quoin. Here are some of the major projects the report lists:


Roof repair or replacement for 15 buildings.

Roadwork through the fairgrounds.

Life-safety improvements.

Electrical system upgrade.

Parapet and electric upgrades at Junior Livestock facility.

Grandstand repairs at Multi-Purpose Arena.

Underground storage tank removal.

Demolish Building 29.

Mile-track improvements.

Replace sewer and water infrastructure.

Horse-barn sprinkler systems.

Tuckpointing and brick repair at the main grandstand.

Theater repairs at the Illinois Building.



Life-safety, utility and site improvements.

Grandstand repairs.

Fire-alarm system.

Roof replacements.

Repair and replace duct work.
