NEW YORK (AP) - A former martial arts instructor in Queens is being accused of sexually abusing four young female students.

Prosecutors said Monday that 26-year-old Lorenzo Ramos forcibly touched the students, two 12-year-olds and two 14-year-olds, while employed as an instructor at United Tae Kwon Do Center in Corona over the past 19 months.

Prosecutors say Ramos was arraigned Friday on charges of sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. He was ordered held on $31,000 bail and is to return to court April 1.

Lawyer Edward Sapone told NBC 4 New York that Ramos has never before been accused of impropriety and that he maintains his innocence.
