ARVADA, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado sheriff’s deputy who was shot and killed while trying to evict a man near Bailey is being honored.

A memorial service for Park County Sheriff’s Cpl. Nate Carrigan will be held Monday in the Denver suburb of Arvada. A procession of law-enforcement vehicles will precede the service at Faith Bible Chapel.

Carrigan was killed and two other deputies were injured on Feb. 24 about 45 miles southwest of Denver. The man who shot them, 58-year-old Martin Wirth, was killed when deputies returned fire.

Carrigan was 35. He had a fiancee and four stepchildren.
