SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah woman accused of lying to police after her boyfriend allegedly beat her 2-year-old son to death over potty training has pleaded guilty.

Court records show that 23-year-old Jasmine Bridgeman of Layton faces at least one and up to 15 years in prison after entering the plea Monday.

Police say she changed her story several times about the May death of 2-year-old James Siger Jr. before telling investigators about her boyfriend’s treatment of the boy.

Her sentencing on a felony obstruction of justice charge is set for April 11. Her lawyer didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

Prosecutors say that 35-year-old Joshua Schoenenberger beat the toddler and stomped on his stomach because the child soiled his diaper instead of using the toilet.

Schoenenberger has pleaded not guilty to an aggravated murder charge.
