NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was shot twice near a Yale University dorm in New Haven.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire at the Superior Courthouse on Elm Street just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say 23-year-old Damien Phillips was shot in the shoulder and leg near Durfee Hall, a Yale University dorm. His injuries aren’t considered life-threatening. The Elm Street area was shut down while police investigated.

Investigators suspect that Phillips was targeted. It’s not clear if any arrests have been made.
