NICKTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A state police fire marshal was investigating a house fire that killed an 88-year-old man in central Pennsylvania.

James Barret died in the fire early Saturday in Barr Township. The Cambria County coroner says Barret died from breathing in toxic smoke and gases from the fire.

Police have described the fire as accidental, but were still working to determine what caused it Monday.
