UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a suburban Philadelphia man was fatally shot while trying to evict a guest who had been staying with the man and his wife.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1QQlyJz ) 35-year-old Sean Mitchell was trying to toss 29-year-old Jermaine Crosley out Saturday afternoon when police say Crosley pulled a gun and shot him.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says Mitchell was shot in the basement, ran outside and was found by police in his wife’s arms. He died a short time later.

Crosley was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder and weapons offenses. Police say he led investigators to a .357 revolver that was wrapped in newspaper and hidden in the rafters of a porch near Mitchell’s home.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Crosley has an attorney.
