LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say two staffers at Los Angeles City Hall have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1LocOLN) that police say 36-year-old Fedy Ceja, a spokesman for Councilman Gil Cedillo, was arrested while driving his personal vehicle this weekend.

Cedillo said in a statement that Ceja’s arrest occurred off hours and did not involve any city resources. He said Ceja’s employment is a private personnel matter.

Police also arrested 27-year-old Fredy Torres, a field deputy for City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson. Harris-Dawson’s chief of staff Solomon Rivera says Torres had spent the evening running errands in a city-issued vehicle.

Neither Ceja nor Torres could be reached for comment.
